Ffiws Caernarfon | GISDA

Gisda is a charity that provides support and opportunities to homeless and vulnerable young people in Gwynedd by providing accommodation; therapeutic support to develop confidence and independent living skills; wellbeing and mental health support; progression support for employment, education and/or training; creative activities to raise confidence and develop skills; opportunities to broaden horizons. This is to reach our vision that the young people of Gwynedd can live happy and safe lives free from disadvantage and inequity.

This is the location of our FFIWS Space at GISDA. The FFIWS space is a community space to create a range of new material and create a creative buzz in Caernarfon town centre. The space is open to everyone in the community but also seeks to target people without previous technology or creation experience. The FFIWS space is interwoven with GISDA creative projects and we encourage creativity in using the machines to experiment and create. FFIWS spaces are vital for our communities, especially to be able to create equality and have everyone with the same opportunities to use technological tools. WORKSHOPS – Through the project we run sessions and workshops on environmental issues. The focus is on reusing repairs and reproducing existing items. We run a mix of in-house workshops, joint workshops with other FFIWS spaces and also by drawing external volunteers/technicians to run specific workshops.
